Dominic Saunders studied at York University, and at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he won the Lloyds Bank Scholarship. He now specialises in contemporary music, and in accompaniment and chamber music. Concert work has taken him all over the UK, Europe and the US, at major venues including the Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall New York, and the Royal Albert Hall Proms. He was a founder member of Jane’s Minstrels in 1988 and accompanied Jane Manning often in recital. Dominic plays regularly with Icebreaker, and has given numerous concerts with other groups including Lontano, the London Sinfonietta and Endymion. In addition to playing, he enjoys teaching, and has written on music for the Guardian newspaper.
