Dan is a versatile drummer and percussionist working with a wide variety of artists, groups and ensembles. For the last two years he has been drummer for Brendan Perry touring Europe, the USA and Canada. Dan has also performed with Astrid Williamson, promoting her album Pulse with shows in Shetland and Brighton. Later this year Dan will join Dead Can Dance on their much-anticipated World Tour.
Dan has worked in the studio with VV Brown, Joby Talbot and Michael J McEvoy. He played drums and percussion on McEvoy’s latest album Terra Cognita (Rezzonator Music). Dan is percussionist for Tom Kersten’s G Plus Ensemble, recording the album Utopia at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios. He also plays percussion for JG Thirlwell’s Manorexia Ensemble. In London’s West End, Dan is currently deputising on the hit musical Singin’ In The Rain. He was drummer and percussionist for the highly acclaimed Maria Friedman: Re-arranged, and was a regular percussion deputy on the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang UK Tour for three years. As an orchestral percussionist Dan has worked with ensembles such as the Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. He has been Guest Principal Timpani for Northern Sinfonia and is Principal Timpanist for Birmingham Opera Company. Heavily involved in education and outreach work, Dan has given workshops for London Sinfonietta, the Philharmonia Orchestra, Sinfonia ViVA and CHROMA. He is a regular workshop leader for The Music Workshop Company and is also a member of Paraiso School of Samba.
